Bahu Fort

Located in Jammu City, Bahu Fort is the oldest fort in the city that came into existence some 3000 years ago. The historic fort was built by Raja Bahulochan and later the fort was renovated or refurbished by the Dogra Rulers in the 19th Century. Both the city and the fort is linked with legend as the brother of Bahu Lochan while on hunting saw both tiger and goat drinking water side by side, Tiger doing nothing to the goat. Looking at this divine scenario, he thought of building the Fort and the capital as he witness peaceful coexistence.

Amar Mahal Palace

Residence of the Royal Family Maharani Tara Devi, wife of late Maharaja Hari Singh, Amar Mahal Palace planned in the year 1962 was beautifully designed and architect by the French architect. The historical building is now converted into heritage Museum which has huge collection of Pahari Miniature, Kangra miniature paintings, liberary of 25000 antique books and many rare collections of arts. It also has historical throne weighting 120 kg. The Palace is the last royal residency and thus it has wide collection of portraits of the family which are kept for display in the museum.

Raghunath Temple

One of the largest temple complex in North India, Raghunath Temple was built during 1822-1860 by Maharaja Gulab Singh and his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh of the Jamwal Rajput clan. It has a seven hindu shrines which has influence of Mughal architecture and Sikh architectural style. The walls of the shrines as well as the deities inside are beautifully decorated. The temple is located some 18 kms away west of Jammu city in Jammu and Kashmir.
