Sahastradhara: the name literally translates to “The Thousand Fold Spring” and it is definitely a crystalline hub of water spouts and blues. Perfect landscape with amalgamation of springs and limestone stalactites it is a different world to experience and what’s amazing is it is amazingly free and natural.

Tiger Falls: set at a mercurial elevation of 1400 meters, Tiger Falls is extremely inspiring and rejuvenating.  Picturesque location is very inspiring and dense forest down the line sets a perfect tone for travellers to trek down the height. Waterfalls measures approximately 50 meters high and when its soars down it gives a picture of Milky Way sketch.

Robber’s Cave: locally renowned as Gucchupani, it is 600 meters long river cave and for its silent and escape way like appearance have made it famous as Robber’s Cave amongst travellers. Splendid caves are classified into two parts long and it has a cave fall that measure roughly around 10 meters long. 

Tapovan: associated with myth of Guru Dronacharya, the place is set at river banks of Ganges. For Hindu it is a place for pilgrimage but for travellers and adventure lovers it is a hub of nature as trekking spots pass through dense forest of Tapovan.

Rajaji National Park: sprawl over an area of 820 square kilometres, Rajaji National Park is an ideal place to come for wildlife adventure. The forest reserve is rich in sub tropical and Tropical broad leaf beside it is home to vivid wildlife mammals like elephants and the Bengal tiger beside that for bird watchers it is a serene place to come in.

Mindrolling Monastery: Located amid the peaceful Himalayas, Mindrolling Monastery is considered to the largest Buddhist learning centres in India. Founded in the year 1965, the monastery displays amazing Tibetan art and architecture, which would surely leave a lasting impression on any visitors coming to Mindrolling Monastery. The great stupa stands high with 185 feet tall making an entry to the record of being one of the tallest stupas in the world. The area of the Monastery is well maintained and more of all the administration is very strict and followed by one and all.

Forest Research Institute

Established in the year 1906 as the British Imperial Forestry Service, Forest Research Institute as it is known today is important tourist attraction in Dehradun visited by huge number of tourists and researchers from across the world. The impressive building spread over 5 sq km and is said to be larger than Buckingham Palace. Even after years of its establishment, India’s forest officers are taught and trained on Forestry.

Beside these, there are many other wonderful tourist attractions like Sahastradhara, Tapkeshwar, Asan Barrage, Lachhiwala, Dehradun Zoo, Malsi Deer Park, Clock Tower, Khalanga War Memorial, Shiv Mandir, Chetwoode Hall/The Indian Military Academy to add to the list of Dehradun tourist attractions.

Paragliding
